In a letter upon completion of the massive work, Sorabji wrote to a friend of his:
With a wracking head and literally my whole body shaking as with ague I write this and tell you I have just this afternoon early finished Clavicembalisticum... The closing 4 pages are so cataclysmic and catastrophic as anything I've ever done — the harmony bites like nitric acid — the counterpoint grinds like the mills of God...

Mad scientist. It would have been ironic if he would have played toccata et fuga

oh yeah by the way 0:37 sounds like a theme to a vampireish song =P

Errik91 those "random" notes did indeed turn out coincidentally to be complex chords and extreme technical difficulty, and also there is atonal concepts in that kind of music. although yes, the first movement seemed like he wasn't really used to it, but the 2nd movement does sound a little better because at that point he was used to how it sounds. probably why the 1st movement is only about 2 minutes long. =.= u just don't have the ears to really enjoy atonal music, do u? yeah, i thought so. >=D
