Not if you coat em. I made one and it works just fine. Alot stronger than plastic. And real weapons are different, much higher grade material. Making no need for metal. Airsoft guns use cheap plastics. Making metal a better option. I used high grade titanium. Way better than that cheap crap.

they dont make the grips metal because it would be stupid. they dont make metal grips for a real ak they are not going to do it for a replica. during the winter the metal grips would be to cold and in the summer they would get to hot
