She Cried - "Del Shannon" - G. Richards and T. Daryll

And when I told her; I didn't love her anymore
She-ee-ee cried...(she cried) And when I told her;
Her kisses were not like before
She-ee-ee cried...(she cried)

I thought that our ro-o-mance was over and done
But to her it had just begun
And when I told her...(sha-la-la) Another girl had caught my eye
(sha-la-la la) (sha-la-la) She-ee-ee cried...(she cried)

And when I kissed her...(sha-la-la)
A kiss that only meant goodbye...(sha-la-la la)
(sha-la-la) She-ee-ee cried...(she cried) ---(Music Interlude)---

(sha-la-la-la' sha-la-la)
And when I told her...(sha-la-la)
I didn't love her anymore...(sha-la-la-la) (sha-la-la)
She-ee-ee cried...(she cried)...

  • Del Shannon: another great talent who ended in tragedy. All of his work is wonderfult. This song is, probably, better done by Jay and the Americans. But Del does it justice.

  • This is the only version I've heard, and I love it. I really like Jay and the Americans, but Del Shannon's style and this production defines the era.

  • If this tune doesn't bring tears, you are DEAD!

  • By The Way, This is NOT a "Romatic Song"! Listen to the words....Gee Wizzz

  • Pure Perfection! Del is THE MAN.

  • don't think i'll listen to the Horrors' 'Who Can Say' the same way again after this! :) good song though!

  • @keefek It is my humble opinion he did every song justice. I loved Del Shannon.

  • Del Shannon was awesome... but I like too much the version of The Lettermen of this wonderful and romantic song

  • Billy Fury done a good version x

  • I agree the tempos wrong and his treatment of the lyric's rather straight like he's rehearsing it for a musical, it's clearly not his song
