Del Shannon: another great talent who ended in tragedy. All of his work is wonderfult. This song is, probably, better done by Jay and the Americans. But Del does it justice.

This is the only version I've heard, and I love it. I really like Jay and the Americans, but Del Shannon's style and this production defines the era.

I agree the tempos wrong and his treatment of the lyric's rather straight like he's rehearsing it for a musical, it's clearly not his song
