Your Story: Tunes From The Garbage

Anything, good or bad can be picked from a dump site, but tonight on your story, we take you to a place where a group of young people, all former street children go to dump sites to look for sound. The slum drummers from Waithaka slum in Nairobi, scavenge for anything that can produce sound including plastic bags... want to know how they do it? Judy Kosgei has the story of a percussion group which uses instruments from recycled materials. And what you probably didn't know is that the group performed during the diamond jubilee celebrations for Queen Elizabeth the second.
