Based on transcripts of an interview with an actual call girl working for over 22 years, 'Transaction' is a frank and affecting cinema verite-style depiction of the interaction between a client and call girl that leaves the audience to determine their own feelings about that dynamic. The shooting style also provides a subtle examination of point of view, shifting energies/control and the comodification of sex. Official Selection Sundance '06. Winner Grand Prix du Jury at Clermont-Ferrand International Short Film Festival. Met the director of this short at Sundance 2012 while waiting in line for "Simon Killer." Super nice dude. Not a bad short either. Manages to capture the loneliness of a call girl (working for an agency in this film) and their clients. I can't imagine what it would be like to hook up with a call girl and the nervousness and awkwardness that goes with it, but this short seems to depict the experience pretty accurately . Great performances, editing and camera work.
