the point obama was making here (whether or not it was a take-down is a matter of perspective) was that it's hard to have an honest and productive debate when an assertion made by a party in the debate proves to be a flat-out falsehood. that was the point obama was making & if you watch the unedited proceedings you'll see that he makes it quite clearly.

Overall, President Obama’s budget has added twice as much debt as President Bush over the same number of years. Obama's stimulus, passed in his first month in office cost more than the entire Iraq War -- more than $100 billion (15%) more. Just for the record...the "dumb elephants" remark was childish.

@stickyrice101 the national deficit was 1.2 trillion dollars when Obama took office (Thanks to the dumb elephants), that was after clinton left a 200 billion dollar surplus. So that means that Bush and the republcians added 1.4 trillion dollars to the deficit. The national deficit is now 1.6 trillion dollars and yes i do blame republicans for this becuase Obama was about to bring taxes back to clinton levels that would have cut the deficit in half, but thanks to rep.s the deficit is 40% higher.

Well...factually it is true! Obama raised the debt ceiling three times which for anyone who doesn't know put us 4 trillion dollars deeper in the hole! And NO...he didn't take Jeb down he just spit out some more BS trying to make himself look a little less crappy than he already does! How unfortunate that he can't just admit when he's wrong and work to solve the problem! The Rep.'s are not at fault for all this debt Mr. Obama. Haha! Pot calling kettle black if I ever heard it!
