WASHINGTON, DC The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC), in cooperation with Stork Craft Manufacturing Inc., of British Columbia, Canada, today announced the voluntary recall of more than 2.1 million Stork Craft drop-side cribs, including about 147,000 Stork Craft drop-side cribs with the Fisher-Price logo. The recall involves approximately 1,213,000 units distributed in the United States and 968,000 units distributed in Canada.

CPSC urges parents and caregivers to immediately stop using the recalled cribs, wait for the free repair kit, and do not attempt to fix the cribs without the kit. They should find an alternative, safe sleeping environment for their baby. Consumers should contact Stork Craft to receive a free repair kit that converts the drop-side on these cribs to a fixed side.

The cribs drop-side plastic hardware can break, deform, or parts can become missing. In addition, the drop-side can be installed upside-down, which can result in broken or disengaged plastic parts. All of these problems can cause the drop-side to detach in one or more corners.

  • Suppose a new 3000 volt taser was on the market and some a--hole put for age 3 and up on the box. I bet there are some drones out there who would look at the box and give it to there 3 yr old cause hay it said it on the box duuuuaa it'll be ok ahhhh

  • Im not defending this company, obviousy no one stopped to consider how substandered hardwear my pose a problem but really anyone who purchased this had to of seen it. Iknow i did, I have a drop side crib, paid a little more 4 years ago, but it has real hardwear, If you put your child in a broken crib and your child dies as a result then you clearly failed your child. If its broken fix it, for godsake don't keep using it.

  • What ever happened to metal hardwear, more and more I see hardwear change to plasticwear? Lets not forget consumers need to be smart and stop buying stuff that uses plasticwear. Suppose I tryed to sell you a seatbelt made 100% from plastic would ya be dumb enough to purchase it?Just to save a buck. Thats right blame the company for your lack of judgement, and buying crao to save money.

  • Some kids/babies could be like me. Even though I had a perfectly safe crib I still broke my legg by just jumping in it lots.

I learned how to jump before I could even walk and crawl decently.
