Brian Stokes Mitchell, Denyce Graves, the Mormon Tabernacle Choir, and the Orchestra at Temple Square perform "Wheels of a Dream" from "Ragtime" on 28 Sep 2008 at the Convention Center in Salt Lake City.

Mr. Mitchell won the American Theatre Wing's Tony Award for Best Actor in a Musical for Kiss Me, Kate in 1999. He was nominated for Best Actor in a Musical for Ragtime in 1998 and Man of La Mancha in 2002, and for Best Actor in a Play for King Hedley II in 2001.

Ms. Graves made her professional debut at the Metropolitan Opera in 1995 and has appeared at many opera houses. Graves sang "America the Beautiful" and "Lord's Prayer" at the Washington National Cathedral during a memorial service honoring the victims of 9/11 on September 14, 2001, attended by President Bush, members of Congress, other politicians and representatives of foreign governments. She also performed "The Lord's Prayer" at the state funeral for Gerald Ford at the National Cathedral in Washington, D.C.

  • I don't think anyone can tell Brian Stokes Mitchell how to sing Ragtime.

  • I do NOT like her voice at all for the part.

  • Did the conductor realize how ridiculously slow he was taking this?

  • The Awkward Moment Renee Fleming sings with more soul than Denyce Graves

  • I love this song and musical... That lady was terrible.

  • It's not that Denyce Graves is bad-my God, she's a stunning singer-it's that NOBODY will ever replace Audra McDonald. Her soaring vocals created a musical signature that will mark this song forever. BSM and Audra made more than music together---they made magic.

  • she has a nice voice.... just not really suited for this p[articular song
