JAPAN — The most powerful earthquake to hit Japan in at least 100 years unleashed walls of water over the northern part of the country. The Japan tsunami washed away everything in its path, including homes, boats, cars and trucks.

Much of Sendai Airport, close to the coast, is under water.

This is a look at the Japanese Tsunami waves off Japan's coast hours after an 8.9 magnitude earthquake hit the Japan region. Powerful Tsunami waves took out everything in their path in the northern part of Japan, destroying homes, cars and entire towns.

Japanese currently say that 500 are confirmed dead and many are missing due to the Earthquake and Tsunami and that shall surely rise.

TOKYO (AP) — Japan is issuing an evacuation order to thousands of residents near a nuclear power plant.

Japan's nuclear safety agency says the evacuation order to more than 2,800 people followed the government's declaration at a nuclear power plant after its cooling system failed following a massive earthquake Friday.

The agency says plant workers are currently scrambling to restore cooling water supply at the Fukushima No. 1 power plant. There was no prospect for an immediate success.

The plant experienced a mechanical failure in the backup power generation system to supply water needed to cool the reactor. The reactor core remains hot even after a shutdown.

Chief Cabinet Secretary Yukio Edano said that the plant was not in immediate danger of radiation leak.

Yes I have very strong emotions as well for the whales which they have killed, but that does not exempt the fact that there country is over going probably its worst diaster.
