Playing a tune in the key of F on a concertina that is essentially in the keys of C and G is more than a little bit daft, and can certainly scramble your mind and tangle your fingers. This tune was written by David Parry for a song he wrote for Robert Service's poem titled "Accordion". I learned it from the playing of Brian Peters on his CD "Anglophilia", and it is played here on a 30-button C/G Anglo Concertina made by Harold Herrington of Mesquite, Texas. I only had to change one bass note from Brian's version, otherwise it would have required playing one note while pushing while simultaneously playing another while pulling, which I am told on reasonable authority is quite impossible!
