Headman's Be Loved surfaces from Relish's recent label round up Compilation 3.
The taught 808 foundation of the track is supplemented with heart swelling synth
lines that unfold eventually into an upbeat electronic pop song repleat with live bass
and swirling strings. Vocal duties are supplied by Rosie Blair, known to some as
vocalist for Moon Unit, and one half of the duo Boy of Girl with Paul Mogg (formerly
of the Psychonauts). The song steps a fine line between electro, synth pop and the
electro/acoustic dualism of Wide Boy Awake.
Along with a dub come two remixes. First up Andreas Esu turns in a trademark
percussion driven house cut up, with a dancefloor calibrated piano breakdown. Then
it is Daniel Avery's turn to offer something much colder in aesthetic: 4x4 with bleepy
arpeggio's and cold wave saw waves. The single will also be presented with a new,
Headman directed video piece.
