  • How long did the entire traverse take?

    Greetings from Italy.

  • @denditube i can't remember exactly but it was between 6.5 and 7 hours.

  • Greetings! Glad to find your coverage. I was twice stymied on the traverse. After I got past and down the cabled section I encountered the wall at the end of the path. I tried going down the gully on the right and keeping to the wall but it looked like it dropped off. What do I do to turn this shoulder and get back to ascending? Cheers Rob.

  • continued: there is a sheer cliff on your left by this time and going down the avalanche chute you can see the valley below behind the yam. after descending around 60 or 70 feet you will see a wide scree slope on your left, very steep. go up that and you're on your way to the summit:) if that makes no sense please tell me and i can draw you a little map and e-mail it to you.

    cheers!

  • @Mountaineer1957 if you watch the vid, at 3:28 you can see the gully you go down... if you put your mouse pointer in the middle of the screen you are right about at the base of the scree slope that you will head up to your left. on the left you can see the base of the little cliffs. it's mostly just big steps heading down to the base of the scree slope. essentially you can't go wrong here as it's the first place you can climb up and out of the chute.

  • @Mountaineer1957 starting at 5:24 there is a shot back at the cabled section. the camera doesn't show it well but it's not all one big cliff in the middle there... there is a hummock inbetween 2 avalanche chutes. once again at 5:24 if you put your mouse pointer in approx the middle of the screen you can see the edge of the hummock between the 2 chutes. so you want to take the second chute, not the one right below the cabled area.

  • @Mountaineer1957 howdy! thanks for your kind comment:)

yes, i think i know the section you mean... well after climbing down the cable you go across one gully, the avalanche chute where i just about bit the dust a few years back then itgoes up a wee bit and is hard rock, it's a drop off, but if you head towards the cliff face you can walk down the next avalanche chute...
