My favourite song from the Brill Building album. If I had to make a guess I would say this was a Letterman performance considering Paul Schaeffer and his band are backing Neil, otherwise I've seldom, if ever, seen Neil without his own band behind him.

This is from a promotional video for the "Up On the Roof: Songs From the Brill Building" CD. The promotional video is called "The Roof Party". It was made available for purchase on VHS in the mid-1990s, but it has never been released on DVD.

For those of you who are intreaged, buy the cd "Songs By the Brill Building" Up On the Roof and listen to the heartfelt renditions by Neil Diamond, for it is wonderful to the ear. The "Brill Building" used to be a recording studio in Tin Pan Alley, New York. A place where most performers were Jewish such as e.g. Neil Diamond, Neil Sedaka, Carole King, etc, it was a beacon for stardom. Some of the most unforgettable tubes emanated from that place of all magical places.
