  • @heidirh Irish crochet terminology does usually differ because British/UK crochet terms differ from American crochet terms. The UK dc is the same as the American sc. The UK tr is the same as the American dc (they are all off by one). If you search Google for "UK crochet terminology" you should be able to find a chart that compares the two, which is handy for any patterns from the UK.

    I just have one question:

    When you write "dc over cord", it looks to me like you then do a single crochet over the cord rather than double crochet. In fact, it looks to me like all noted dcs are being carried out as scs... Am I confused?

    Does Irish crochet terminology differ from other crochet terminology (most of the patterns I've used have been produced in the USA)?
