Normally, Markets open daily except a puplic holiday to trans-act business. However, markets in southern areas of Myanmar have peculiar way. Every week, a day is fixed to be a Market Day of the particular station or town. In southern Shan State for instinct Monday is fixed as Taunggyi Market Day, Tuesday as Mong Tauk Market Day, Wednesday as Kalaw Market Day, Thursday as Pindaya Market Day and Friday as He`ho Market Day.

The local populace usually take advantage of the Market Day to sell the agriculture produce such as mustard, cabbage, garlic and tomatoes. All the vegetables are green and fresh since the land and weather are very fine. Local vendors ply their goods according to the schedules and so also the consumers. For instance, the vendors at Kalaw Market Day autimatically move to Pindaya. And the consumers follows suit. And Shan Market Days are usually booming with business wherever the location may be.
