Colon cancer is the second deadliest cancer.
To help beat colon cancer, Gastrointestinal Associates (GIA), a leading GI practice in Knoxville, Tennessee, scheduled GIA Screening Colonoscopy Day for Saturday, Oct. 17. Fifty people referred by the InterFaith Health Clinic and The Free Medical Clinic of America will receive a free colonoscopy exam from the physicians and staff at GIA and The Endoscopy Center.
GIA challenges other GI practices across the country to join in making the exams possible for those less able to afford the procedure, and the event is a reminder that screening is the best way to prevent colon cancer.
