On March, 15th 1986 a charity show called "Heartbeat" was organized by Bev Bevan to raise money especially for the Children's Hospital in Birmingham. This sold-out show was to become one of the most successful and spectacular events in British rock music history, featuring big names such as The Moody Blues, Robert Plant, UB40, the Roy Wood Band and, of course, the Electric Light Orchestra. I created a stereo remaster of the original mono audio from my VHS recording of this concert. Hope you enjoy this version!
Performed By: Jeff Lynne (vocals, guitar), Bev Bevan (drums), Richard Tandy (keyboards), Mik Kaminski (violin), Louis Clark (orchestral keyboards), Dave Morgan (guitar, keyboards, backing vocals), Martin Smith (bass, backing vocals)

I love the Moodies but how did they ever think they could top this. It's the best version of this song available with a great solo and don't you just love that final crunching chord right at the end!!!
This is a version on its own. It would be incredibly DIFFICULT and quite frankly unfair to expect ELO to even ATTEMPT to redo the original version. It would be like expecting Queen to reperform the EXACT version of Bohemian Rhapsody. Fellow You Tubers, these songs were very very DIFFICULT to compose AND sing. THAT is why we should always cherish the original versions. They are rare gems !
I know, my comment about strings was an outburst regarding some twatty earlier comments. For years I thought there was a sort of cello solo at the bridge but I listened to it again recently and realised it was a synth
