Mass Hallucinations was an interactive art piece that used cutting edge computer vision to find and track multiple faces in real-time, and then displayed entertaining distortions of the faces back to the users in a mirror-like display. This video is what some example users saw as they interacted with the display at SIGGRAPH 1998, in Orlando. (This is not the best video of it; I have hours of footage in obsolete formats that I really should do somethnig about.) The exhibit was shown at several conferences, and ended up as an exhibit at the San Jose Tech Museum for several years. An earlier version of the system was called "the Magic Morphing Mirror".
