  • have you changed the jets in the carb?

  • This car would benefit from a rear engine mount. Notice how the entire engine rocks after the throttle snaps shut. An 1835 powered type 1 I owned would get axle tramp so bad from a hard launch that it would shake the fan housing off the motor, break the stinger off the collector, and cause the transmission to jump out of gear. After the rear engine mount was installed it never had the problem.
