Featuring William Shatner, Leonard Nimoy & Nichelle Nichols. The Star Trek portions of The Pioneers of Television Science Fiction episode. The dramatizations of Gene Roddenberry selling Star Trek and the Plato's Stepchildren filming were great.
A real tragedy of Star Trek was that it destroyed the career of the best actor in the regular cast, DeForrest Kelly. If you look at his filmography, he went from constantly working to virtually disappearing, and it's a shame because he was by far the most interesting and entertaining actor to watch in the cast. He didn't look good in those nastily horrid pajama tops (discarded for the movie versions) and was destroyed except for Star Trek revivals.
Also, this program suffers from what I call "Roddenberrism", or "Praise The Holy Saint Gene Roddenberry Syndrome". Gene was a visionary, who single handidly managed to create and make Star Trek, and did everything in the series, down to changing the light bulbs. And he did it solely because of wanting to make humanity better. And of course, they forget to mention all those creative people who really were the heart and soul of the series: Coon, Justman, Solow, Fontana, etc.
This is full of fake information. Roddenberry did The Lieutenant at MGM, and he first approached MGM to do Star Trek, but they turned him down. Then, he went to Desilu, which accepted his proposal. Desilu (and Lucille Ball) had a first-proposal deal with CBS, that's why they went to see them first. CBS chose Lost in Space instead, so they went to NBC, who made a deal with Desilu. First you find a studio, and then the studio finds the network.
