President Obama's Measure Of Progress

Four years ago at the Democratic National Convention in Denver, Colorado, then-candidate Barack Obama said that Democrats measure progress by whether people can find a job and provide for themselves and their families. In September, President Obama and the Democrats will meet for the Democratic National Convention in North Carolina, a state that has lost nearly 50,000 jobs since President Obama took office and has an unemployment rate at nearly 10%.

We vote for several men and women.One represents the country while the others represent your state in congress.Perhaps you have not been following politics in the last 2 yrs, but the republican party has been hijacked by extremists who identify as" very conservative" and has put on the floor bills that every nonpartisan observor of congress have called irrational and unrealistic. The few feasible bills pushed by moderate repubs have been voted down by their own party whenever obama endorsed it.

I know this may sound crazy to you, but they honestly think what they want is the right thing for America to do. The same goes for Democrats. They feel that America will fare better their way, no matter what end of the spectrum they're on. You may scorn Republicans and say they're destroying America, but Republicans say the exact same thing about Democrats. Who's right? Nobody, really. That's why we need both parties involved in the government, which we do.
