I honestly believe the doping began with the East Germans in 1976. After that, the others had to cheat just to remain in the competition.

I have always felt so sorry for Shirley Babaschoff, the last of the truly greats who did NOT use steroids.

@Beuterich Check the records.  The USA swim team DOMINATES in olympic history! Both the men and women are so far ahead in medals won that the next best is Australia. So, no, we're are not jealous of any nation. If fact, it is every nation that is jealous of the USA.

As x Jenny Thompson I recognize there are nothing but rumors and strong suspicions on her , but you know if those suspiscions come directly from well known journalists and famous swim experts .......

No wonder of that , always funny to see how selective is the americans' fairness and attitude to the doping when accusations and evidences involve their doped cheating fellows ....;-)

XDD We all know that Amy Van Dyken was a doped cheater , she used to be a good customer of Balco laboratories and she even testified a grand jury about that scandal , no matter the US government & authorities covered it all up like in hundreds of other doping cases

involving several US olympic teams !!

As said by G. Hall , the only difference between her and M. Jones is that this last went to jailed , but they were both on same dope list .
