Dutch Translation of what Miep says:

When the Nazis came, they commanded Miep to remain sit on at her desk. She was not allowed to look around her or to the direction of the attic, or to look from the window. She wanted to know what was going on at the attic. She later heard Anne Frank and her family walking slowly down the stairs one for one.

I think if she'd been able to see and hear what was going on, she'd have said so. All her descriptions of what she did witness are painfully detailed.

The onderduikers (people in hiding) were: the Frank family: Otto, Edith, Margot and Anne; the Van Pels family: Hermann, Auguste and Peter; and Miep's dentist, Fritz Pfeffer. The two helpers who were also picked up were: Victor Kugler and Johannes Kleiman.

It wasn't cruel enough that the Grüne Polizei took the eight onderduikers and two helpers away. They didn't even allow Miep to watch them go:

"Wat daar achter gebeurde, dat kon ik niet zien, niet horen, want ik moest aan mijn bureau blijven zitten. En toen hoorde ik ze allemaal de trap af gaan, heel langzaam, want ze hadden in de tussentijd mogen pakken, en toen gingen ze de trap af. Ik mocht niet naar het raam, ik moest blijven zitten. Dat heb ik ook gedaan."

What happened after that, I couldn't see, couldn't hear, because I had to stay seated at my desk. And then I heard them all going down the stairs, very slowly, because in the meantime they had to be allowed to pack, and then they went down the stairs. I wasn't allowed to go to the window, I had to stay seated. And that's just what I did.
