National poverty expert Donna Beegle, PhD. talks about the importance of mentoring in helping people move out of poverty. Beegle spent 28 years living in poverty before a mentor helped her break the barriers of poverty. Other people affected by poverty also talk about how they've been helped by mentors. There's also a discussion about Team Work Northwest, a Poverty Reduction Initiative program that places mentors in the workplace to help people keep their jobs.
