Nice work!!!

@raven8699 We all have to go through it, we all make mistakes. Be happy when learn the mistakes and fix them during training and not on the job.

Unlike some people I love wearing my full PPE or at least most of it. Yeah they are hot, but hell... No matter what call it is. Medical Aid or not I'd rather be safe then sorry in any given ~emergency~ situation. #1 priority is you.

@thomasleandotcom Right you are, this is a RISKY manuever, and the only reason we practice it is because the alternative is a PAINFUL DEATH. There's no reason not to use a safey line, it's not supporting you, just preventing a dangerous fall.

@bradroger07 I agree with you to a point. Yeah, he needs to be in full bunker gear. Yes he needs an SCBA. And yes this all needs to happen in real time. BUT....not without a belay line on. I have knew someone who fell from a window, just doing this in practice, and he fell on his back onto his SCBA tank and rolled his back, broke his neck and spine and died. That could all have been prevented if he had just been wearing a belay line.

Well, I'll sleep much better tonight knowing that guys on the job.

generally when REC is sideways the video turns out like this...

This is why we train.

@bradroger07 you might not have noticed but he isn't tied into the harness he is using a self repel
This type of training need to be done with full turnout. If you are going to bail in a real life situation chances are you with have full stuctural PPE and airpack. Also we need to train on this without the use of belts and harnesses.Unless your dept. has a SOP of wearing these type of escape harnesses over the turnout it is useless on the fireground. When doing a bail-out both hands need to remain clasped together on the rope and roll out with your hands OUTSIDE the window sill.
