This is lovely.
The first time I did standup, people asked me if I was nervous. My answer was "yes, but this isn't about me." It was about being compelled to give that part of myself to others. I'm so moved that Ellen used those exact words, and of course in a more eloquent context.
The desire to give joy is rarely talked about, because it's such an emotionally-charged sentiment. But I'm very grateful to Ellen for the reminders that people like her do exist in the profession.

I love this woman. She is sooooo genuine. When she was talking about just liking to make people happy, I could tell she really meant it. Not too mention the hilarity she brings to me via my TV. All the best to her and Portia.

Hilarious..the world need more people like you who cares about people. The world needs more joy, peace,equality and love... the necessary ingredients that will restore us and put us back in a place of what it is to be human!!!Ellen Rocks. Congrats to you and Portia De Rossi.
