0123 #04 IP Unemployment Higher in Urban Area

According to the latest statistics released by Taipei County Government, the unemployment rate of indigenous residents in Taipei County registered 10 percent in 2008. The figure shows a drop of 10 percent from 2001, but it is 4 percent higher than the unemployment rate for non-indigenous residents in the county. Unemployment not only reduces incomes of the indigenous families but also threatens children's education.
