On March 20th, residents from Brooklyn and the Bronx held a rally at City Hall to protest the City's plans to spend $1.2 billion on new jail construction. The rally coincided with the Department of Corrections (DOC) budget hearings over new jail construction. At the rally, Comptroller William C. Thompson and Stop BHOD supporter Evan Thies spoke out against the City's jail plan.
