As soon as the snow pack breaks, I am up high, hitting the ponds up in the Basin, off Newton Valley, and off the Long Trail. There is nothing like the fighting spirit of a Brook trout. As for the comments below, you don't keep the 10" to 16", you put the old boys back. The little fellas cook up better anyway. Nothing like a trail side supper of 5" to 6" brookies cooked up in some fat back, beans, and a fresh can of brown bread. With a stream chilled Labatt to wash it down.
How about some discussion of WHY beaver ponds are better fishing? Breakdown of organics at dam = better insects = more little fish = more big fish! Beavers are the trickle down economy that works!

@floridafishing72 i dont post comments like that to be boorish or a "big dummy" i actually catch these brooks 12-16 inches occasionaly the small fish in this video are about normal size pull outs but last summer in wyoming we pulled out several 12-16 inch brooks :)

@floridafishing72 i dont post comments like that to be boorish or a "big dummy" i actually catch these brooks 12-16 inches occasionaly the small fish in this video are about normal size pull outs but last summer in wyoming we pulled out several 12-16 inch brooks :)
