AlexanderdeMedici, your name sounds like Italian. That was very sad story what the white soilders did to blacks. Even in Vietnam war, they were doing the samething, untill they made black captains and Colonels.

My father and my uncles are black and they was there. White soldier's were killing black soldiers in all the wars they participated. Clint could have shown that if he wanted to represent history as it was. My father deserves that much for all the niggerish behavior he had to put up with in the name of patriotism for the America he grew up in. What blacks did in all the wars was far more patriotic and heroic than what any white soldier could ever dream of being.

it doesn't matter whose ass he kisses, because this movie SUCKS. It's corny, slowpaced, and generally disappointing.

The reason that African American troops are not featured prominently in Eastwoods war films is attributed to the fact that during those times, the army, like most other institutions in the U.S was segregated. Its not about kissing the white mans ass, or enforcing racism. Simply about trying to represent history as it was.

it is wrong to put everyone in the same sack! I agree with you. My comment was tongue-in-cheek too! Cheers~

I was being an ass. Psamaa08 wanted to give me a lecture about black folks and how some of us white people ignore their contributions. I'm not guilty of that. Clint Eastwood never made such a comment.
i am going to see this movie

Blacks fought in two divisions in the US army. There were scores of smaller black combat and support units defending the USA homefront and abroad attached to various larger units on all warfronts. The black soldiers in the Canadian and British armies were not segregated. France and Britain had many 'African' divisions in their armies too - including several Black African divisions who fought against the Japanese on the Asian front. One million blacks registered in the American forces in WW2
