Tribute to Henry Meynell Rheam

Henry Meynell Rheam. (1859-1920).
English Pre-Raphaelite painter and associated with the Newlyn School of painters.
Rheam painted mostly in watercolour. He specialised in romantic paintings in the Pre-Raphaelite style. He can be compared to Eleanor Fortescue Brickdale and John Byam Shaw. Born in Birkenhead, Rheam first exhibited in London in 1887. He studied in London, Paris and Germany and was primarily a watercolourist. Rheam first settled in Polperro but moved to Newlyn in 1890.
