Hey, it's no wonder they sing along. Steely Dan was and will always be a very cerebral band in the music composition and their lyrics. Great songs that all tell a story, even the new stuff.

and he didn't play all of the exact notes exactly the same the whole time either... it's just a cover and interpretation of the original, not an attempt at a carbon copy.

I agree that Joe Jackson fans are usually Steely Dan fans. And I have found that fans of both usually appreciate a little Zappa too.....
