If you buy gold from IGXE you can trade it for about double the gems you'd get for the cost of buying the gems from Arena Net Black Lion. Since they are doing nothing about farming bots, many of which are ran by IGXE anyhow, you might as well save a ton of money if you planned on buying the gems directly from ANET.

Last night 30 gold = 1600 gems = $20 from Black Lion.

Last night 60 gold from IGXE = $20 = 3200 gems.

I love the fact that I can buy a character slot with gems that I can buy with in game gold. I've never cared for costumes or skins but extra character slots is something I'd really like to have. Good job Anet!

so what, thats PvE and that doesn't influence anything in regards to other players, so someone bought their way to lvl80 IN PVE. PvP on the other hand is structured, meaning everyone has the same stuff, all those people who bought their lvl80 or their top end gear don't get to use it in pvp.

GW is about skill not gear. You don't auto-win from having gear.

Except you don't need ridiculous amounts of gold to get the gear with absolute max stats, unlike other MMOs. One of the main issues is that people always compare GW2 to your generic MMO, and that right there is the source of the problem.

You will need lots of gold to get the nice-looking ones, but then again that's what gems are for too.

And, the main reason why lv 80 is better than lv 10 in WvW is because all skills unlocked and traits, not because of gear.
