I'm Deborah Johnson, I'm the Recruiting Director and HR Supervisor for Infragistics.

How did Infragistics get involved with SetFocus?
I actually was introduced to SetFocus from our previous recruiter. He had started the relationship about five years ago and he knew Theresa Billy and they had a really good working relationship and he brought me to one of the presentations that he was doing for his recruiting purposes for our organization and I just wanted to continue the relationship. I thought it was great.

Why Is SetFocus Important to Infragistics?
SetFocus is very important to us for our recruiting purposes. They actually teach the skill sets that Infragistics really looks for in our employees that are technical. A lot of the programming skills taught here are what we really want and they have the skill sets so we come here every time. I think it's great. I think that the teaching skill level is great and, in general, it really, works out very well for our company and I think for SetFocus students as well.

Why did Infragistics chose SetFocus?
Yes, we actually have a really good working relationship. We are partnering with SetFocus so essentially we hope to be able to access the current students as well as future students. We like coming here to do our presentations. We like people getting excited about working for Infragistics. We really like the fact that it's such a good easy working relationship between the two of us and I think for everybody it's a win-win situation all the way around.

How is the talent and skill set of those people who attend the Master's Program?
The people that we hire, we usually have the perfect skills for once they come into the company and they really want to learn. They tend to be aggressive. They love programming. They love learning about .NET and WPF and anything new that's coming out. We end up training these people in some of the entry level positions and they're usually in some of these positions only from anywhere for four to six months and then most of them have actually gone on in our organization to do other things such as become developers, evangelists, trainers. They do so many different things that it's just amazing. You know, they really come in and they're able to pick things up and have that initiative to really want to do more.

What are your thoughts on The GRID?
We think The GRID is great. I've had exposure to it from the recruiting process in coming here and doing the presentations. Other people on our company, such as Jason Beres, have actually used The GRID to do a particular presentation from SetFocus to other people. You can reach so many different people and the quality is amazing too. So we think it's a great technology and I think we'd love to see more of it.

I'm really excited about SetFocus. I think it's really great that they're teaching these particular skill sets because when the students come out of college, they don't always get taught the type of technology that is the most popular and current. They want to get these positions where they're high level developers but yet they're not quite there with their skills because it just wasn't taught to them right away. I just think that it's an amazing program to offer people who really want to get into technology and be programmers.
