A tug boat pulling a barge at Skookumchuck Narrows suddenly capsizes trapping one man inside the boat for 10 minutes. Kayaker Dave Fusilli of Team Demshitz http://www.demshitz.com paddles out his Pyranha kayak http://www.pyranha.com in an attempt to save the man from the wreckage. Luckily no one was killed and a nearby tug pulled the barge and submerged tug to safety before the tide went out and the rapids of Skookumchuck became dangerous. here is a vid of demshitz surfing skook

  • I agree with you... OH MY GOD!

  • I believe the tow line was too short and the tug was maneuvering quite fast, that makes the drifting barge pulled the tug instead....just my opinion.

  • @eJaCuLaT0rZ only one was screaming,, if you notice only one prop was turning as it capsized and since there was no longer any water resistance , naturally the prop began spinning faster and the shaft bearings began to burn, then the packing in the stuffing box, and my guess is thats where the smoke is coming from

  • @roley33 I noticed only one of the twin screws was turning as it capsized so my guess is one engine lost power and it didnt have enough to keep the towline tight and prevent the barge from overtaking the tug

  • "We should get in our kayaks". What a fucken puff.

  • That's because they're using the sump oil as fuel.

  • that why women shouldnt drive boats bahahahahahahaha

  • Thats my dads boat. We just landed in england at the time. A man was stuck inside an air pocket for a few hours, and nearly got brain damage.

  • Hi,

    When did this happen?

  • its called "tripping" the tug boat was tripped for some reason. the barge CANNOT go past the tugboat cuz this will happen. maybe the tug lost power while traveling at a steady speed. this applies to regualr boats as well the same thing can happen.
