Despite their coarse language, American stand-up comedians are sometimes the sharpest commentators of their society. Half performers and half philosophers, each one with a unique style, they tackle the core of the most controversial issues of everyday life. This video was made to point out how noble comedy can be, and how much it can elevate above gimmicks and dick jokes.

  • bad collection except for Hicks and maybe Rock.

  • @Edubbplate back when i made the video i didn't have that much material, i admit if i had seen more stuff at the time i would have cut the williams and saget bits. i stand by the rock, hicks, bruce, chappelle, maher, and david ones, though.

  • No George Carlin or Jerry Seinfeld?

  • i didn't really know them that much when i made the video, carlin would have definitely been included.

  • I'm British and it's quite hard to find decent american comedy that isn't race related or based around cursing (swearing) if you guys know any that's worth watching I'd appreciate you posting it....

  • @nick1543 I like humous, it's good with pitta bread :)

  • @TheMentauk welcome to Earth, you may find interesting things such as culture, good comedy and normality. oh yeah but don't go west, it's a catchy tune but it's a bit like nazi propoganda, you follow it and you get occupied.

  • thanks then!

  • I was just being pedantic. forget that comment. I really enjoyed the video!!

  • i know, i only included the clips that seemed to match best together to make the video flow as much as possible. the comedians included are not necessarily all my favorite (definitely not bob saget, and larry david is much more subtle than the clip in included). i don't think woody allen would have been appropriate, but as for richard pryor i regret not knowing his style very well when i made the video!
