Erykah and Chaka have some of the most amazing mixed voices ever. Sounds like she's belting in chest, but if you have a really delicate ear, she "belts" high notes in mixed voice (strong edgy head voice) like the other r&b/soul high "belters", but with an incredible, strong sound.

I Ms. Badu for not becoming just another Whitney, Mariah, or Celine cause with those vocals and her song writing skills she couldv'e been if she wanted. Not to mention Ms. Badu is very pretty naturally. She could do the whole sexy r&b thing if wanted to, but she too original for that which is why we love her so much. When you listen to Erykah you REALLY LISTEN to Erykah.
