  • @Mrboombastic50 In fact Yes to all your questions. Then I came across a good mechanics, he told me to leave it as is since it's only a noise and if you can't notice if the noise becomes louder and louder everyday, it's not necessary to change the input shaft bearing ! The bearing itself is 15 pounds but a complete job is 500 pounds or more! Leave it like that, I don't think you will break your gearbox!

  • mu toyota avensis makes a similar noise, 2001 1.8 vvti 5 speed man. did the noise go away when you accelerate or not as loud ? and then when you let go of the accelerator does the noise become more apparant? have you had it fixed and cost est because i know the bearing itself is cheap but its the opening up the gearbox part im worried about, drives normal but i have a feeling if i leave it the gearbox could pack up.
