the Battery needs to be replaced.
i mean, it could be the battery, nothings turning on so yea. its definitely not a Harddrive problem.
also, to extend life to Ipod classics, you can mod them to use Compact Flash Memory, instead of the lanky HDD that everyones afraid of breaking

buy a zune

buy a new battery and install, after that connect to itunes and restore, or download ipod wizard and re-install firmware after new battery.

Ok, b4 u turn it on make sure the hold is on.... Then take it off nd the ipod will "turn on" then hold the center button nd top button at the same time... It should restart.
