  • Onlu if a spouse is dead can u remarry

  • Dont listen! Please, he is sending you straight to hell. No remarriage!

  • Sir where is the scripture to support what you are saying, that one is Free to Remarry after a divorce? The bible does say except for fornication one can ''PUT AWAY'' his wife but it never says one can REMARRY. The only exception is if the spouse dies.

  • Abandonment? Really? Pains me to see people make so light of marriage. This Dr. and everyone else needs to really define what audience the "exception clause" was intended for. It was not for everyone which explains it's absence in the other gospel accounts on divorce. The best way to understand God's model of marriage is His example as Bridegroom and the Body of Christ as the Bride. Where in Scripture does the Body have room to leave God? Where in Scripture does He indefinitely leave the Body?

  • 1 Corinthians 7:39 A wife is bound by law as long as her husband lives; but if her husband dies, she is at liberty to be married to whom she wishes, only in the Lord.

  • Romans 7:3

So then if, while her husband liveth, she be married to another man, she shall be called an adulteress: but if her husband be dead, she is free from that law; so that she is no adulteress, though she be married to another man.

  • Anyone who is gona Divorce their spouse is sinning and to remarry while your spouse is living is adultery

  • Dr. Powlison -

Just to clarify, the woman who asked the question mentions the concern that she could lose her salvation should she choose to remarry. While I appreciate the answer you gave about divorce and remarriage (b/c it is biblical) I didn't hear you address the salvation concern, which could be cause for confusion for some. Can you please address that? Thanks!
