It's late afternoon and the day has been filled yet again with frustrating ney practice so I pulled out my trusty 'Eric the flutemaker' bamboo flute tuned to some kind of mysterious key. Instant candy gratification. I can't say I like this but it's a good motivation to improve.

This is the last time I played with a tense smiley embouchure. It was such a painfull way for me to play. I'm now relearning with a relaxed style.

  • Hey thanks all. I do listen to a lot of shakuhachi music but just can't play anything other that the simplest of folk tunes on them. Actually I might post that up here to give you all a laugh ;)

  • Ah yeah the cactus loves that room. It gets very hot in there in the summer! Too hot for humans!!
