Final Fantasy XIII - Odin - [Eidolon Battle]

Up to this point, the game is pretty easy, until you face the Eidolon Odin. Odin doesn't take any crap.

Accessory: Spark Ring x2
Default Paradigm: Dualcasting
-Libra
-Auto-Chain
-Switch to Ying & Yang Paradigm
-Auto-Chain
-Potion
etc...

When Odin puts on 'Ullr's Shield', switch to 'Dualcasting' Paradigm to boost chain bonus and fill the Gestalt meter. Then switch back to 'Ying & Yang' when he goes offensive.

Use a potion when you think you need it. Odin should focus on Hope most of the time.

Some people use 'Synergist' to give Hope/Lightning 'Protect', and that works too, but it takes too much time switching, so I just use potions while the ATB bar fills.

If you still have troubles, you might use an Aegisol or Fortisol if you have any. But I would recommend fighting him without it, since there are more battles like this down the line, and you might not have items to help you. It's good experience.

Thank you! This was by far the best tutorial for this battle by far. I tried a few others and was struggling. I watched this one time and I was able to win the battle easily after watching this. The yin yang paradigm is the trick. THanksssss!

This is a very easy fight! Do Yin & Yang through out the whole fight and make sure you have 2 Spark rings. If you don't that is fine. Before you battle odin make sure you cast the shroud that grants: Veil protect, vigilance, and shell If you have it! It helps out a hell of a lot and makes a huge difference!

OMG I had no clue it was this easy. Here are the EASIEST OF EASY

Step 1: Cast Aegisol & Fortisol before running to the bridge to begin the fight.

Step 2: Have your default paragram set. (Some used Ying Yang, some used dualcasting, I used used Slash and Burn to take more life away then switched to Ying yang for healing.)

Step 3: As your fighting look about Odin and you will see a little target bar begin to fill up. Feel it up as fast as you can

Step 4: When the bar is completely full, press X.

i dont know which one it is but what ever shroud castes haste ( i think its haste, its that one that makes your ATB guage recharge quick) makes the difference, probably with any eidolon battle.

This is what i did, try it out

When the fight starts, use the double ravager set and use 2 attacks, and quickly set to double medic if you're scared of his attacks. this allows you for one cure. then you continue healing each other until Odin strikes only one of you. Then you switch to one medic and one ravager, we keep attacking him with that. Then when he uses the shield, quickly switch to double ravager again, and keep attacking him. this should raise the bar quickly
