Obviously I don't do this often. Its been over a year since this was taken, and that's the last time I've done it.

  • holy shit avalanche must be heavy as fuck. MY 5.3 silverado and 5.3 yukon xl are much quicker.

  • yeah, curb is supposedly 57XX, but whenever I drive over a scale, it shows over 3 tons, empty.

Your silverado is probably 1000 lbs lighter depending on configuration, but your yukon xl should be identical, since its on an identical platform. Care to take a video and prove this claim?

  • Im not bashing, but im just amzed at how slow it is, I though the weight was almost identical to a crew cab silverado. Didnt realise it was heavier. But i Have a video of both uploading.

  • Oh, no, I know its slow. But nothing's wrong. I had it on a ScanGauge II last weekend and did a few runs, and according to that device, it nearly always hit between 293 and 298 hp on every WOT run, a few times it felt a bit more powerful, and the device read out a maximum of 238 hp. Its definitely held back a bit with torque management, but I'm not real fond of the idea of unleashing it on the little 4L60E that GM decided to use for this vehicle.

  • Do you really average 17/18 MPG?

  • cont from first comment: I use only the best of everything in every respect. Both differentials are running Mobil1 gear oil, transmission has dexron 6, engine has Amsoil SSO 0W-30, air filter is a purolator pureone...all up to date. My only guess is that GM's claim of 100,000 mile ignition system tuneups is complete bullshit. I'll be doing a tuneup in the next couple weeks with MSD wires and Delco Iridium plugs. We shall see if my mileage comes back.

  • seems like that 5.3 struggles a little to get that truck going. then again thats a massive heavy vehicle too.

  • Cool, Cam it :)
