  • Nice video. I was diagnosed with retinoblastoma in my left eye at 3 years old (hard to believe that's almost 14 years ago!) and had it removed by Dr. Hoffman from the Rhode Island Eye Institute. And I go to Jahrling Ocular Prosthetics on a regular basis to have the prosthesis cleaned and fitted. I hope Katelynn continues to remain in good health and best luck and wishes to you and your family.

  • Thank you for your kind words. Your story sounds very similar to Kate's. We have heard a lot of good things about Jahrling. We may visit out there when Kate is a little older.

  • Great video. My daughter Verity is now 7 and she had her eye enucleated in May 2000. I am also a family contact for the Children's Eye Cancer Trust in the UK. I'm sure many newly diagnosed families will find Katelynn's story useful.

  • Thanks. We have worked with a couple different families here in the states who are going through some tough times with RB and their children. We hope our Katelynn's story can be an encouragement to others as well.

  • You've got a beautiful child, and I hope she lives a long and healthy life. God's got a plan for all of us, and obviously she was meant to stay here with you and bring hope to others with R.B.

  • VERY sad beginning HAPPY ending. very touching... my name is katelynn too.... i feel so sorry for her but glad that she got a fake eye in the end!!

  • This video is very touching. It reminds me of myself and shows me i'm not alone. I had my right eye removed when i was 5 in 1997 at Will's Eye Hospital. I WISH YOU THE BEST! You are a beautiful girl.
