Bring some protection because there are groups that live out there waiting to hijack your load and kill you. (unless you work it out with them in advance)

It's not a secret. Criminals have google earth. It's been a main smuggling zone since the 1960s. The whole area is like that. People are running across the border left and right. You can't ignore it and pretend it's not happening. People should know how their government is doing - it's a big political issue - border security. It's a waste of tax payer dollars to send all these federal agents to hang out on the public roads. Everyone (legit or criminal) travels on private roads.

I believe this checkpoint is in So. Texas.. I've been through it a thousand times or more, There's a few ways round it if you intend to miss it. For the most part, I dont see how they are securing our nation.

yes, it is on 281 just south of Falfurrias. I agree it does very little to secure our nation - I think it's just an excuse to create jobs for BP agents. I'm not against checkpoints - just its kind of dumb when everyone goes around it.
