1st attempt at stop motion (istopmotion 2.0)

this is just a a VERY short animation i tried today to get familiar with the concept of stop motion animation as well as the istopmotion software.

In istopmotion can you take a picture of you holding something in mid air, and then remove the hand so its floating? Please respond, i'm getting istopmotion in a few days and would like to know that.

that would require a lot of work if u had ur hand in the frame, but if you use something like a fishing wire or small stick then you could go in photo shop afterwards and removed it from the clip frame by frame, if the flight scene is not too long, it should not take that long and would look really neat!

how would you things fly or free fall in your animation.

you can use rigs, often you would use wire of some sort and then remove it in photoshop in each individual frame

@NirvanaRemix its a application for a mac that allows users to make stopmotion films with the slightest of ease due to its onion skining type overlays that helps us know where we wan't to put things better

That is often what I do, but if you were to paint a rig green over a greenscreen you could key it out in istopmotion. Works as well, but our way is cheaper :D I made my rig of fishing line-ness out of k'nex, and i made loops to put round the arms and legs.

It takes a LONG time. Just so you know, especially if you are working with multiple frames. In one of my videos, I made a bottle disappear by slowly putting my hand over it, then made a person on a bench in the distance disappear as well with a hand movement similar to the bottle. It took me about an hour to make everything look snazzy.

For flying, I would say get some fishing wire and hang it from the ceiling. SAVES LOTS of time.
