Photos of Bobby Fischer's visit to the Philippines in 1973, hosted by President Ferdinand Marcos, to open the International Chess Tournament. These came from albums that were a personal gift from Marcos himself to Fischer to commemorate his trip. Fischer abandoned a storage unit in Pasadena when he fled the United States, and these albums were part of his belongings left behind. Many of his chess memorabilia were in that storage and ended up in a local flea market in LA.

  • Guys , wat is the title of the song?

  • One. Version sung by Adam Lambert from American Idol.

  • Thanks for identifying Florencio Campomanes. I was wondering who the person was that seen with Bobby in many of the pics. It appears he was the personal host for Bobby during his stay. I do not know who the other people are, other than Ferdinand and Imelda. If anyone can identify them, It would be nice to know. Thanks.

  • Is this a Coldplay tune as well?

  • The song is "One", originally recorded by U2. This is the version sung by Adam Lambert on American Idol.

  • I have had these albums for about 8 years now. I thought it would be nice to post them, now that there is Youtube, to show some pics of him that I believe have never been seen publicly, since these were pictures personally given from the Marcos family to Bobby. I thought it was nice to see some pictures of him apart from playing chess.

  • Best President of Philippines

  • @TomDavid88 pull your head in you idiot

  • He played the game extremely well. Many people do many things extremely well. Some perspective should be maintained.

  • I'm one of those in the pictures. How can I get a copy for my file?

  • @nirocal That means that you are one of those Jew rat bastards who stole his stuff! He went on the radio several times demanding it all back! Why didn't you at least contact him about all the stolen stuff you bought?!

    Sincerely,

    Tom David

  • I always like Fischer the Chess Player. But Fischer the human being leaves a lot to be desired. His political judgement was appalling. Ferdinand & Imelda Marcos. FFS Bobby what were you thinking consorting with those scumbags?

  • RIP Bobby Fischer the greatest chess genius of all. Single handed, he defeated the Soviet hold on chess.

  • Kaya pala Mautak ang Mag desisyon nag Chess!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    Pro ako

  • THE BEST PRESIDENT OF THE PHILIPPINES
