Gene Pitney, I believe, recorded the 1st version of this tune and Hyland's version uses the same backing track.

Yeah, I realize that Cliff's version of the song is better than Brian Hyland's version. I bought a CD called "Brian Hyland-Greatest Hits" and heard Brian's version of the song. Cliff has faded from popularity and isn't popular with young music fans in the UK (below age 30) according to what I've read. I think his music should be appreciated by all generations of music fans.

I'm amazed that Cliff Richard even knew about this song - a minor hit for Brian Hyland - and even more amazed that he would record it. His version of it is terrific.
