Video for St. Che's 'Be my... (powerstation), based on the rhythm of Tackhead track 'Heaven on earth' and with heavy Fats Comet influences. St. Che (aka A.J. Johnson) remains somewhat mysterious. He recorded two 12-inches and an album ('Narcotic') with the help of the On-U Sound posse in the late eighties and that's that. Great track though!

  • Wow! I never knew there was a video for this song. I have owned the 12" version since the latter 80s. This was a club fave at Xcess in Houston Texas during that time. Cool!

  • A brilliant track, from an absolutely delicious album ... my annual soundtrack to the summer ... stunning, exceptional ... beautiful.. yeah, I quite like it! I've never ever tired of this record

  • An all time favourite - for reasons I simply can't articulate.

Check out Swelter's review on at Discogs.

But what I'd really like to see and hear is St Che's Exquisite Act.

I can feel a video coming on...

BTW What ever happened to AJ Johnson (apart from the track Caucasian on Hoodlum Priest's brilliant Heart of Darkness; available straight and remixed on the hoodlumpriest

    website)
