Martyn's earlier songs about the MP Expenses scandal (Manifesto I Want To Be An MP) and the downfall of the banks (Bankers) have been entertaining audiences in and around Manchester since the stories first broke last year. His new single is in a similar vein and has already proved popular when he performed it over the summer in East Manchester.
"I try to avoid party politics" said Martyn "But MP's still don't see the hypocrisy of millionaire politicians telling us that we are all in this together when clearly with the money they earn, we are not and will not be when the cuts come"
"I also find it very ironic when wealthy individuals and business, especially banks, threaten to leave the UK so that they can avoid contributing to the good of our country. Like some politicians it seems they have only their own interests at heart and not the greater good they could and should be doing."
A fine piece of work, sir, though we are mystified as to where you found a guitar that could put itself back together after being so wantonly vandalised!
